Animals need boundaries that they can use themselves. A dog that has to wait for someone to open a door will not go out, and a door propped open for convenience is a containment problem waiting to happen.
Noise carries in a clinic or a kennel. Barking from a boarding run travels straight into a treatment room or a waiting area, and stressed animals make each other worse.
Then there is the weather and everything in it. Outdoor runs and aviaries need airflow and daylight, but not the wind, the rain or every fly in the district.
Strip curtains are a barrier animals learn in a day. Dogs push through at nose height, cats walk through, and neither needs anyone to open anything.
They cut noise and draughts while keeping the light. A run of strips across a kennel doorway softens the barking and holds the warmth without making the space dark.

Most work it out within a day. Dogs push through at nose height and cats walk straight through. If an animal is nervous, tying a couple of strips back for the first few days usually sorts it.
1.5mm in 75mm width. Narrow strips part easily for a small animal and fall straight back, where a wide heavy strip can be too much for a cat or a small dog to push.
They reduce how much carries between areas, which in a boarding facility is usually the difference between background noise and a problem. They are not acoustic panels and will not soundproof a room.

Warm soapy water or a mild disinfectant. Strips unhook individually from the stainless steel head section, so one that has been fouled can come off and be cleaned properly rather than wiped in place.
